Imported Crew list limited to your own name

Modified on Mon, 30 Jun at 8:36 AM

What is happening ?

Under GDPR Regulation, which we are required to comply with, we are not permitted to process or display personal data of other crew members without their explicit consent.

First, last names and User IDs are considered personal data — as they can identify or help identify a person. (Article 4, GDPR)

Because you are registered as a CrewLounge member, you have agreed to share your data with us.
However, this is not the case for your colleagues.

This means that during the roster import process, no other crew-data will be imported besides your own.

Will this change ?

Unfortunately it won't.

We have consulted our legal team and their message on this subject was clear.

Is there a workaround?

When a flight is downloaded via roster-import for the first time, a crew-list will be built in the background.
Other pilots downloading the same flight after that will be able to see the rest of the crew, if they are crewlounge subscribers and have consented their data to be shared.

How do I consent so that my colleagues can see my details when they import their roster?

You can enable it in these locations:

  • MyCrewLounge : Go to User/My Privacy where you can select who is able to see your details:

  • The PilotLog Mobile app:
In Settings&Tools, go to My Profile and scroll down to Privacy Settings.
This opens MyCrewLounge on the page listed in the previous section.

  • The Connect app:
Go to Settings, then select Privacy Settings.
Under My Privacy you can tailor the settings to your liking:

Note that very often the names in rostersdo not match your full name, the name is truncated, etc.

e.g.  Your full name is Juan Carlos Mandolarez, but on the roster (of others) it shows like J.C. Mandolarez, JUAN MANDOLAREZ, JCMAND, JMA, Mandolarez, J. , and so on...

In order to link your "roster name" with your CrewLounge AERO account, you must insert the name "as printed" (including the spaces and dots) in the Roster Name field of My CrewLounge - My Profile (login here)
