Thank you for upgrading from mccPILOTLOG to CrewLounge PILOTLOG.

This article explains the different steps you need to take, in order to migrate your database and images from mccPILOTLOG to CrewLounge PILOTLOG :

Step 1 - Register

Create your free user account with CrewLounge AERO.  With a single account, you can use all apps of the CrewLounge AERO suite.

Should you already have a CrewLounge AERO user account for another application, like CrewLounge CONNECT, you can skip this step.

It's important that you review and complete your User Profile.  Login to My CrewLounge to view and edit your profile and your privacy settings.

Step 2 - License

You can migrate your lifetime license for mccPILOTLOG to CrewLounge PILOTLOG, as follows :

  • Purchase a 3-year license for CrewLounge PILOTLOG

Review the different editions to understand the limitations and differences between the PRO, ENT and ENT+ edition of CrewLounge PILOTLOG. If you are PRO or ENT with mccPILOTLOG today, you can now upgrade to ENT or ENT+ at no extra charge !  e.g.  if you have a PRO license for mccPILOTLOG, you can purchase the 3-years ENT+ license for CrewLounge and your lifetime license becomes ENT+ lifetime !

Pilots that joined mccPILOTLOG in 2019 must only order and pay for 1 year !

  • Migrate the license key

From the mccPILOTLOG desktop application, click the Transfer my License button that appears on start-up (see below). You are re-directed to My CrewLounge. After login, the transfer is done.  The lifetime license appears in My Account.

This is actually the page that you get to see in mccPILOTLOG :

The page will automatically pop-up on start of the old logbook.  If the page does not show, click the "Convert to Version 5" link on the Tools - Helpdesk page :

Step 3 - Transfer Database

From the mccPILOTLOG desktop application, click the Transfer my Database button :

The process generates 2 or 3 files :

1) mccPILOTLOG_V5_database.json

This file contains all database records.  Click the mccPILOTLOG - Import Database button in My CrewLounge - My Database to import that json file into CrewLounge PILOTLOG.

2) mccPILOTLOG_V5_images.zip  (optional)

Images (Endorsement Signatures + Pilot Pictures) that you made with mccPILOTLOG are zipped into 1 ZIP file.  Depending on the number of images you have created, the size of the ZIP file can go over 200 MB.

Go to the Tools - Import Old Flight Data page of the new logbook software CrewLounge PILOTLOG and browse the ZIP file.  The images will then be relinked with the flights and pilots that you had imported with the json.

All images will upload to the CrewLounge Cloud Server, from where the images will also synch to your mobile phone or tablet. Depending on the number of images and the internet connection speed, this process may take a bit of time. You may want to delay this import until you have fast internet connection.

3) Carreer_Dates.txt

This file contains a number of dates that you had logged with mccPILOTLOG and that cannot be transferred automatically.  We drop the dates in a Text file for easy reference.

Go to the Settings page of the new logbook software CrewLounge PILOTLOG and reinsert the dates.  This again can be done anytime later.

Step 4 - Install

Download and install the new software on the desktop (Windows / Mac) and mobile app (iOS / Android) :

Download here

Important Note for Mac OS

mccPILOTLOG uses Mono Framework 3.2, whereas CrewLounge PILOTLOG requires the latest Mono Framework 5.10

Installing Mono Framework 5.10 for CrewLounge PILOTLOG will lead to mccPILOTLOG no longer launching! Make sure you have transferred your license (step 2 above) and exported your database (step 3 above) prior to installing CrewLounge PILOTLOG.

If you need mccPILOTLOG running again, simply reinstall Mono Framework 3.2 (download here). mccPILOTLOG should then work back to normal.

Step 5 - EFB Inbox

If you are using an EFB airline interface, you must now forward your voyage reports to a new email address.  Do no longer use any email address from the mccpilotlog.net or aircrew.center domain!

You must send your EFB files the new crewlounge.aero inboxes.  You find the email account for your airline here
