CrewLounge CONNECT downloads your roster from the crew portal "on demand". That means that you must initiate the roster download process by clicking a button.
On request of many crew members, we are now implementing automatic background login for some airlines. The Automatic Roster Change Monitoring function will automatically login to your crew web portal and check for roster changes. The process runs in the background on regular intervals.
When a roster change is detected, CrewLounge CONNECT will let you know. At that point, you must still download your roster. CrewLounge CONNECT will never acknowledge any company messages.
How to enable?
You enable Roster Change Monitoring from the Settings - Airline page. This option is only visible to supported airlines.
Select the time span that the app must connect with your company. As with any other app that runs background processes, such as your Mail app, the process will consume battery and internet data. We therefore let you decide on the interval, ranging from once per hour until once per day.
When Roster Change Monitoring is enabled, you will find the last 20 logs at the bottom of the Download page. With iOS, the process will run perfectly on time. With Android, the device itself decides when it performs the task in the background. The timing may differ slightly from the interval you selected.
Connection Errors
Connection errors can have various causes, such as:
- incorrect login/password
- no internet connection
- phone in sleep mode
- phone in battery saving mode
but also:
- the background process halts, because another company message must first be confirmed
- the process takes more than the maximum allowed time of 20 seconds due to slow crew web portal
You need to set the correct permissions on your phone to allow the CrewLounge CONNECT app to start a background process when the phone is in sleep mode and/or when the phone is in battery saving mode. The settings depend on the Operating System. Below are some links that can help you:
