How to exchange files between iOS, Android and PC

AirDrop is a service for iOS and macOS operating systems, enabling the transfer of files among Mac computers and iOS devices without using e-mail, web storage (google drive, dropbox, etc.) or data storage device (USB, etc.).  The service runs over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

You cannot use AirDrop to exchange files (images, videos, PDF, etc.) between iOS and other operating systems, like Android and Microsoft Windows.  Fortunately, here is a simple wireless workaround:

  1. connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network
  2. open the web browser on both devices
  3. navigate to / / Instashare , whatever works best for you
  4. you may have to refresh the page to find your other device

You can now transfer files from any device to the other.  Have fun!

Note:  this feature does not require internet connection, it uses only the WiFi network.  Your files are not uploaded to any cloud server. The transmission is peer-to-peer, similar to blue-tooth data sharing.
