How to exchange files between iOS, Android and PC
AirDrop is a service for iOS and macOS operating systems, enabling the transfer of files among Mac computers and iOS devices without using e-mail, web storage (google drive, dropbox, etc.) or data storage device (USB, etc.). The service runs over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
You cannot use AirDrop to exchange files (images, videos, PDF, etc.) between iOS and other operating systems, like Android and Microsoft Windows. Fortunately, here is a simple wireless workaround:
- connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network
- open the web browser on both devices
- navigate to SnapDrop.net / ShareDrop.io / Instashare , whatever works best for you
- you may have to refresh the page to find your other device
You can now transfer files from any device to the other. Have fun!
Note: this feature does not require internet connection, it uses only the WiFi network. Your files are not uploaded to any cloud server. The transmission is peer-to-peer, similar to blue-tooth data sharing.
