Mac OS | Application does not launch (new install)

Modified on Sat, 4 Dec, 2021 at 11:30 AM

CrewLounge PILOTLOG for desktop is developed under Microsoft Windows, but runs cross-platform!  You can run the desktop app on your Apple Mac OS without the need for a virtual Windows.

CrewLounge PILOTLOG runs on all 64-bit macOS Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, ...

To make the application run on your Mac, you require the following 3 (free) components to be installed:

  • MONO Framework by Xamarin - Version 5.18.0 (only this version!)
  • XQuartz by X.org - Version 2.7.11 (or later)
  • PILOTLOG by MCC - Version 5.2 (or later)

Download the installation files:  CrewLounge PILOTLOG

MONO Framework

Verify that you have the correct version of the Xamarin MonoFramework installed, as follows:

  1. Right-click Finder on the dock
  2. Choose 'Go' and then 'Go to folder' option  (or take the Shift+Cmd+G shortcut)
  3. Browse to /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions
  4. Verify that you have the 5.18.0 version installed ( a higher version will not do the trick! )

Should you have multiple versions of Mono installed on your Mac, make sure that 5.18.0 is the current framework.  This version is needed to run
CrewLounge PILOTLOG - Version 5.2

.

Some pilots reported that they had to reboot the computer in order to get the framework up-and-running.

If Mono Version 5.18.0 is not found, download and install the package from our website (here).

XQuartz

Verify that XQuartz is installed on your Mac.  The XQuartz binary is installed in /Applications/Utilities folder.

You need Version 2.7.11 or higher.  You can verify the version by selecting the file (info appears in the right pane), or by right-clicking on a binary and selecting Get Info menu item.

.

If XQuartz is not found, download and install the package from our website (here).

Note :  do not confuse "XQuartz" (for Mac) with "Quartz" (for Linux)
