THIS SOLUTION IS ABOUT mccPILOTLOG - DO NOT USE FOR CrewLounge PILOTLOG
Just to make sure :
(a) You want to run mccPILOTLOG on two or more desktop computers :
- Continue with this solution
(b) You want to stop using the first desktop computer and continue with mccPILOTLOG on another desktop computer :
- Continue below
(c) You plan to re-install your desktop computer Operating System and you want to re-install mccPILOTLOG on the same desktop computer :
- Continue below
IMPORTANT NOTE !
The desktop and laptop must be the same software version. Verify the About page of the desktop software to find out what version you have.
In case you upgrade from version 3.6 to version 4.0 (typically from Windows PC to Mac OSX), then continue with this solution !
On the OLD desktop PC/Mac
1) On the Sync page, manually sync the PC/Mac with mccCLOUD.
2) On the Tools - Helpdesk page :
- press the Re-Install Last Update button to download the latest revision
- restart the software
3) Copy the application files, as follows :
STD / PRO users
- On the Tools - Transfer application to another PC/Mac page, follow the guidelines to copy (export) the files from your old PC/Mac to a removable drive
ENT users that have pilot pictures or endorsement signatures linked to mccPILOTLOG :
- On the Tools - Transfer application to another PC/Mac page, follow the guidelines to copy (export) the files from your old PC/Mac to a removable drive
ENT users that have only the database with your flight records and no pictures :
- On the Tools - Backup Database page, press the yellow cloud icon to force a database upload to mccCLOUD.
On the NEW computer
1) Download and run the Installer Package for Windows PC or for Mac OS.
2) Launch the application and go to the Tools - Update Software page :
- Download the latest software update !
The installer package does not have the latest updates onboard
Restart the application to install the new update.
Windows Vista-7-8-10 You may have to start from Windows START - mccPILOTLOG - mccPILOTLOG Update Installer to force the update
3) On the Tools - Upgrade to PRO-ENT page :
PRO / ENT users
Insert your PRO or ENT user license key
4) Restore your files :
STD / PRO users
- On the Tools - Transfer application to another PC/Mac page, follow the guidelines to copy (import) the files from the removable drive to your new PC/Mac :
- Select the directory which contains the files (mccPILOTLOG_transferDB.zip and mccPILOTLOG_transferIM.zip)
- Press the Execute button
ENT users that have pilot pictures or endorsement signatures linked to mccPILOTLOG :
- On the Tools - Transfer application to another PC/Mac page, follow the guidelines to copy (import) the files from the removable drive to your new PC/Mac :
- Select the directory which contains the files (mccPILOTLOG_transferDB.zip and mccPILOTLOG_transferIM.zip)
- Press the Execute button
ENT users that have only the database with your flight records and no pictures :
- On the Tools - Backup Database page, retrieve the backup from mccCLOUD :
- select ''mccCLOUD'' from the dropdown list in the Restore Backup frame
- press the Retrieve button
- press the Install Backup button
5) ENT users If the old computer was linked to mccCLOUD (see the Device list on the Settings - PC Mobile Sync page), and you want to re-use the same Sync ID on this new desktop, then enter the following command in the Run Action box on the Tools - Helpdesk page and press Execute :
CID=X (Version 3 for Windows is using ID in range 1 thru 9)
CID=XX (Version 4 for Windows/Mac is using ID in range 11 thr 99 )
e.g. Your Sync ID for the old computer was WKSLWPQQAMWE-1G, then use the command CID=1
CAUTION : do NOT re-use ID from Version 3 in Version 4 !
